Indianapolis Museum of Art's Hiroshige exhibit, "Thirty-six Views of Mt. Fuji"

Just saw this IMA show last week and it is awesome! Hiroshige's "36 Views of Mount Fuji" woodblock prints illustrate his supreme control over color and "relief" process-from carving to inking to printing. Each image is stellar.

Indianapolis Museum of Art's "Drawings to Prints" exhibition, 2010

An excellent overview exhibit, albeit very brief, of the history of printmaking from the vaults of the IMA. This show includes many of the top printmakers from the Dutch masters of 1600s through American modernism. I'm especially captivated by Karl Bodmer's unique 1830s etching of New Harmony, Indiana. This is a must see exhibit for those who enjoy a little history with their art!

This is a collection of one Whoosier's (Hoosier's) thoughts, reflections and reactions to a diverse number of arts topics- current exhibitions, performances, studio methodology and process, arts education, etc.- from central and southern Indiana and occasionally the rest of the Great Lakes Mid-West region.
